THE BEGINNING

When Charity Home Rebekah lodge initiated 16 new members in 1991, they brought in many young minds ready to work for the good of the order.  In early 1993 Brenda (Doran) Travis came up with an idea and quickly went to her friend Sally (Beal) Goembel.  They in turn spoke to one of the main OddFellows-Lynn Wessels-about the idea. Lynn took the Rebekahs down to the basement of the lodgehall and showed them the unused side of the building.  Ohhh....talk about creeeeeepy!!!! That side of the building was like it was in earlier years and the businesses had just walked away from it.
The new Rebekah members rallied together on the idea and took it up for a vote in the lodge.  PASSED!! Next it was on to the OddFellows for approval since it was their building.  With the support of Lynn and others like him the vote passed and work began.
